The Old Government House Hotel

The only 5-star hotel on Guernsey, it won’t come as a surprise to learn that The Old Government House Hotel is dedicated to providing unparalleled family-friendly service. The hotel welcomes visitors of all ages and offers a thoughtful range of activities for children as well as a children’s menu in its restaurants, a Kids Eat Free policy and a children’s afternoon tea. The kids menu provides an excellent selection of classic dishes such as Cumberland sausages with mashed potato and gravy, but children are also encouraged to order half size portions from the à la carte menus, should they wish to do so.

The Duke of Richmond

With a dedicated Children’s Afternoon Tea, The Duke of Richmond Hotel is well prepared to welcome guests of all ages. Littles ones are invited to a very delicious teatime treat, which can be enjoyed in the elegant surroundings of the hotel or, if the weather’s fine, on the sea-facing terrace. The specially designed Children’s Afternoon Tea menu consists of the chef’s selection of cakes, which includes crowd pleasing favourites like vanilla and strawberry cake, a maple syrup and popcorn cup cake and caramelised banana and chocolate tart. The obligatory scones are also included, as is a selection of freshly made sandwiches.

 Crabby Jack’s

Located in Vazon Bay, Crabby Jack’s is a lively beach café that caters excellently to both adults and children. The menu is a crowd-pleasing mix of fresh seafood, pizza, burgers, pasta and salads, and most of the dishes are available in kid-friendly sizes. Grown-ups should order the ‘cracked crab’ which comes with fries, a house salad and your very own mallet for cracking the crab. Younger family members will enjoy the kids menu, which is a well-chosen selection of favourites like proper hot dogs with curly fries and macaroni pasta with garlic bread. Crabby Jack’s is also equipped with an outdoor play area, meaning kids are kept entertained while you wait.

The Longfrie Inn

The Longfrie Inn might seem like your average country pub, but this is a country pub with a ‘Fun Factory.’ This charming restaurant in St Pierre du Bois has its own children’s soft play area, which has plenty to keep young visitors entertained from ball pools to a haunted house, rope swings and slides.  The menu focuses largely on British classics like fish and chips or steak and kidney pudding, and there’s an extensive daily specials board to choose from.

Villa

Pizza, pasta and ice cream; it’s little wonder that Italian cuisine is a favourite with all the family. Villa is St Peter Port’s much-loved Italian restaurant and, as well as its great pizza, its known for its child-friendly approach. Traditional Italian dishes are the mainstay of the menu here; expect pizza, pasta and antipasti made from high quality Italian ingredients. What’s more, picky eaters of any age can customize their pizzas to include their favourite toppings.

 Vistas Beach Café

 Enjoy a family meal on the roof terrace (which offers fantastic views of the sunset), cosy up inside, or take advantage of the covered al-fresco area. Vistas is popular with all ages thanks to a varied menu, which is served here throughout the day. Children can blow off steam on the adjacent beach, while parents relax and take in the lovely sea views.
