Sous Chef

The Duke of Richmond is currently looking for a sous chef to join it's kitchen team.

The Duke of Richmond Hotel in Guernsey, is part of Red Carnation Hotel Collection and is a stunning four star property located in the heart of St. Peter Port with amazing views of the surrounding Channel Islands and France. This wonderful Hotel features 73 individually designed bedrooms and suites, an established bar, a very popular restaurant and several function rooms where we are offering our guests a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

Key responsibilities of the Sous Chef will include:

  • Assisting the Executive Head Chef in the design and preparation of all menus
  • Managing the kitchen in Executive Head Chefs absence
  • Ensuring that all kitchen stations deliver to the required standard with the support of the Executive Head Chef 
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Fire Prevention regulations are adhered to
  • Assisting in food ordering, purchasing and rotating
  • Training staff

The ideal candidate for the Sous Chef should have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5 star Hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Sound awareness of menu planning and development
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
